WINE TOURS
We host small exclusive wine tours for parties to top quality vineyards and cellars – some of which are not open to the general public. This offers an unique insight into some of the top estates in the world.
On past tours, we have visited Bordeaux: tasting at Chateaux Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Pichon Baron, Leoville Barton, La Conseillante and d’Yquem – with wonderful lunches at Chateau Pichon Baron, La Tour Figeac and La Garde – and a grand finale dinner and stay at Chateau Lascombes.
We have had a superb tour to South Africa, staying in a deluxe 4-star hotel in Cape Town, enjoying an amazing traditional brai cooked by Cape’s top chef Reuben at Boekenhoutskloof winery during a leisurely 5-day wine tour visiting the vineyards of Constantia, Franschhoek, Hermanus and Stellenbosch.
I
We have visited Tuscany; staying in a stunning countryside hotel in the heart of Chianti – and visiting top estates in Chianti Classico & Rufina, Montalcino and Bolgheri wine regions. Winery visits included Antinori, Frescobaldi, Fontodi, Biondi Santi, Tenuta San Guido (Sassicaia) and Tenuta dell’Ornellaia.
In 2008, we hosted our first South American adventure to the vineyards of Chile & Argentina. Our fun relaxed ten day tour included visits to coastal San Antonio and Casablanca and southerly Maipo and Rapel in Chile. Crossing the Andes, we visited Argentina’s great wine region, Mendoza. In 2008, we also visited Burgundy, visiting top domaines in Cote de Nuits, Beaune, Chalonnaise and Maconnais.
In January 2009 we flew over to New Zealand for a memorable 13 day tour of North and South Island wineries which included wonderful visits to Craggy Range in Hawkes Bay, Cloudy Bay in Marlborough and Felton Road in Central Otago – as well as a wine tasting cruise across the Marlborough Sounds.
In June 2009 we hosted another tour (our fourth!) to Champagne for a week’s indulgent stay visiting top houses. Lunching at Bollinger, Pol Roger, Joseph Perrier and Taittinger’s Chateau La Marquetterie, dining at Charles Heidsieck and Comte de Dampierre’s chateau in Chenay – and tasting at Krug, Henri Giraud, Philipponnat and Gosset.
